As school has started or about to start it's time to get back into the swing of things and get on some kind of routine.
Who hates making lunches in the morning for kids to take to school? How about after school when your kids are hungry and you seem to always have to make them a snack?
Here are some helpful ideas to make your mornings flow without feeling stressed or after school you can actually enjoy spending time with your kiddos instead of catering to them when they want snacks.
Whether you shop for your groceries on Saturday or Sunday. Sunday evening is the best time to get ready for the week. Make as much as you can for the lunches for the week. Prepare fruit in bags, cheese and meat in containers, make sandwiches, get everything organized so during the week all you have to do is put it in the lunch box. You can also put kids stuff on the bottom on the fridge so they can make their own lunches. Just have everything lined up for each day and they can be independent and do it them selves and if they complain that they didn't like their lunch you can say will packed it. You can give them options for each food category. For after school snacks I saw a great way to let kids pick what they want. Go out and by a shoe holder that you put on the back of a door. Fill it will different kinds of snacks and juice boxes and kids can get it them selves or you can use a chips and dip plate for your kitchen table with different snacks in it for when kids get home. They can fix there own snacks.
So many different ways to make you life less crazy in the morning and more time for you to enjoy your kiddos before they are off to school. Same for after school. Sometimes it feels like your the maid and not the mom. Kids are very capable to do things on there own. I tend to help my 5 year do everything and I then feel exhausted. Once they are able to do most big kid stuff they can do more then you think and I need to stop helping him and let him figure it out.
This year let's all try to enjoy the year and not be so stressed about everything and love those kiddos.
We are on vacation before school starts back for us. Enjoying some Florida weather with family and friends.
